About the Artist

Vivian F. Zoë is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and the Ohio State University, receiving bachelor and masters' degrees in studio art, theatrical design, art education and arts administration.  Recently retired as the director of the Slater Memorial Museum, she has served as director and curators of museums, galleries and historic sites including the Noah Webster House in West Hartford, the Charter Oak Cultural Center, Hartford and Hartford's  Office of Cultural Affairs, all in Connecticut.  She served as the first director of Craftsman Farms, Gustav Stickley's New Jersey home, now a museum.  Prior to entering museum and site management, Vivian taught art to children and adults.


Vivian has served as a peer reviewer for the American Alliance of Museums and has juried exhibitions around the state of Connecticut.


Since retiring, she has focused on her own work which has enjoyed success, being accepted into exhibitions around the state of Connecticut and Rhode Island, including Lyme Art Association, the Bristol (Rhode Island) Museum and Five Points Center for the Visual Arts in Torrington, Connecticut.
